We would like all expectant mothers to contact the Reception Desk for an appointment as soon as they find out they are pregnant, so that they can be booked early for scans and blood tests etc, to avoid any risk factors. You are also welcome to make an appointment for a pre-pregnancy consultation with a clinician.
Registering Your Baby with a GP
Register your baby. Bring your form to the surgery for your baby to be registered with a Doctor. It is important to register your baby as soon as possible following birth.
You will be given a Post-Natal appointment (please attend, as this is done for the well being of both you and your child, by appointment only.
Child Health Surveillance
All babies at 6 weeks old are invited to surgery for their 6 week check. This is by appointment only with the Doctor.
Child Health Clinics
Held at Workington Community Hospital
All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from eight weeks old by appointment with the Health Visitor.
Contraceptive pill, Emergency Contraceptive, IUCD's, coil fittings, Implanon, Nexplanon & also for general advice. Please ask at reception for an appointment.
Cervical Smear Clinic
Please ask receptionists to make you an appointment with one of our practice nurse's
Thursday 9am - 12noon
Minor operations. Please discuss this with your doctor who will then arrange for you to be given an appointment.
Led by our nursing team, this clinic offers advice and general health check-ups to patients diagnosed with diabetes - By appointment only.
Asthma sufferers can recieve advice and support in this clinic from our nurses who specialise in asthma care - by appointment only.
Coronary Heart Disease
CHD sufferers can receive advice and support in this clinic from our nurses who specialise in CHD care.
Clinics held on a Friday 9.00-1.00pm and 2.00-6.00pm
COPD sufferers can receive advice and support in this clinic from our nurses who specialise in COPD care
Chronic Disease Management
General Clinic - held on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9am - 1pm
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 2pm - 6pm
Appointments for all other chronic disease management areas are made by appointment
Patients can self refer to our Smoking Cessation Clinic.
If you would like to stop smoking, please inform our receptionists that you would like to be contacted by the Smoking Cessation Counsellor and s/he will contact you to set up an appointment.
The Podiatry Service
Patients are now able to self refer to the Chiropody Service. There is a referral form that you are required to complete and sign. The aim of this service is to make the pathway to the Podiatry service faster. Please ask at reception for a referral form.
